MoMa

Today is your day off. Wake up late and savor coffee & couple of sweet rolls, bad for your waist line, great for your taste buds.

Go to MoMa to see the Georges Seurat's drawings. Get the membership while there.

Run errands in the afternoon, have your nails painted, and order in. Enjoy the bottle of Merlot with P.

Love in The Time of Cholera

After 11 hours of sleep you wake up at 10am. The only thing you look forward to getting old is that hopefully you will need less sleep. Waking up early to get to the office really interferes with your biological clock.

You get ready and off to Pastis for brunch. To your joy you are offered one of the best tables. Coffee is welcomed with great appreciation, the warm, strong liquid finally wakes you up. P. orders eggs you yield to pancakes with fruits. P. chats away, you people watch. Hours later you emerge into the streets and pull a map out of your purse.

The next couple of hours are spent navigating West Village and Soho in pursuit of real estate. One open house after another; you open closets, compare sizes, and wonder if any space could feel like home.

After quick stop to purchase Christmas tree you get home. P naps, you go to Equinox.

In the evening you stop for a quick bite at 360. Countless calories later (kobe beef burger, sweet potato fries, cobb salad, apple pie with ice cream, espresso) you're ready for a nap. You go to the movies, instead.

"Love in The Time of Cholera"; you watch the movie with pleasure, glad that you've had a chance to read the book earlier. You love Gabriel Garcia Marquez, his writing is incredible.

Cirque du Soleil

At 11 am sharp you find your seat at the Madison Square Garden ready to enjoy the Cirque de Soleil, Wintuk. Not so thrilled with the crowds and screaming kids, but quite taken by the performers.

Two hours later on a way home you browse Borders and pick up couple of books, one on wine, the second you find in travel section. Get home, change and go for a work out.

In the evening P. picks up couple of bottles of red and indian food order. You watch Holiday with Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant while savoring the dinner.

Fall in the Park

One of the nicest fall days in New York. You go for a long walk with P. amazed how beautiful Central Park is. Endless paths, falling leaves, unexpected entainterners, oasis in the middle of maddness.

Thanksgiving dinner is at Zoe. Fois gras, venison, sweet potatoe puree with chestnuts, pumpkin tart along with great glass of pinot noir and espresso. Who needs turkey.

The day before Thanksgiving

You spent a whole day at the office. Must say, instead of working for hedge fund industry you'd rather have your own and spend loads of money on food, travel, shoes, and penthouse on Fifth Ave. Maybe next year.

Get your nails done on a way home and have some overly salty food at Pane E Vino with P. Definitely not going back.

The timing is off

You know when they say, timing is everyting? Well, today the timing is definitely off. The morning goes fast, unproductive and lazy. You look forward to brunch, yet you decide to leave before you get seated. Annoyed by trains not running on schedule, annoyed by cab driver who is moving in glacier's pace yapping on a phone. You have irrelevant conversation with B.

M. calls and ivites you to an event at the InterContinental Hotel. Short notice is not something you appreciate. You make an effort to put on a black dress, apparently dress code is obligatory. Usually you love dressing up, this time it is a chore. You meet with M. to make an effort. You hope to enjoy your time, yet again, you are somewhat annoyed.

Get home, glad the day is over. Now you just need to straithen up your appartment, here is another thing you wish you didn't have to do.

Shop, Eat, and Admire

10 hours of sleep. Love it. Wake up rested, finally. Slowly sip coffee and flip through couple of magazines. New York Times calls at 11am, they're nice enough to stop by your place and pick up a key to the front door. You hate wet newspapers and you are not lucky enough to have a doorman. Fortunately every problem has a solution.

You change into your work out clothes and show your face at Equinox. You do your best to force some sweat out of your body.

V. calls wondering where you at. You planned on spending a day together. After you do your nails next stop is Searle, dependable Searle, you never leave empty handed. V. tries on pair of pants you find a winter coat. She likes the coat also. Two credit cards are rung, two coats leave the store, two happy gals continue with their afternoon.

THe Neue gallery hosts Klimt this month. You love him and you love the gallery. Short cab ride later you get the tickets and enjoy the exhibit. Afterwards you take a table at Cafe Sabarsky. V. orders wine.

Friday night

Friday you leave the office at 6pm and run home. Well, run home right after you pay for yet another pair of boots. The shoe addiction is deadly; frankly very soon you might have to use the refrigerator and the oven to accomodate your purchases. The boots are so lovely, though. Soft, brown, italian leather, just right length and shape. They make you happy.

New shoes and weekend ahead. As soon as you open the door and are ready to take your clothes off, F calls. You hesitate for a moment. Tea and a movie at home or series of drinks and socializing. You figure there will be plenty of tea and movies when you're old and wrinkled.

Quick change of clothes and you shut the door behind you. The pinot noir warms you up, F. chats about everything and nothing, and you nibble on food.

Where does the time go?

The weekend passes in light speed. Between running errands and shopping not much else happens. You sleep late, make the best attempt to work out, and spend your paycheck - what's the point of keeping it - afterall the dollar is falling down to hell..... Have a long conversation with your Mom and listen to your sister reporting the daily ups and downs of her life. You bless the food delivery system in the city, countless choices at any time of day and night. Weather is still surprisingly warm, encouraging long walks. You meet B for espresso accompanied by plate of sweets and make your way to Saks Fifth where she's buying evening dress for your upcoming benefit dance at the Metropolitan Museum in couple of days.

On Tuesday you go to Azza for champagne and dancing. Sinful night at the beginning of the week. You know you shouldn't stay up late, yet you do.
