Winter walks
You wake up still tired. Force yourself to get up and go to Equinox half asleep. Feels good to work out, feels better to stay in warm bed. Take a quick shower and out of the house to meet L.
Balthazar is fuly booked as always, decide not to wait. After hour of walking around SoHo you stop by Zoe for late lunch. L orders bottle of wine.
You get home at 9m and go to bed.

Welcome to NYC Lisa
This weekend is so busy, you hardly have a moment to breathe. Why can't there be 30 hours in a day, why do we need sleep?
Friday you are tired after a long week at the office. You feel like going home, taking a bubble bath, and sleep for 15 hours. Instead you meet L at 9.45pm at Devi for dinner. The sleep desire vanishes with the first glass of wine. You are glad L is here, wish she's left LA and transfer to NY. You spend good 3 hours chatting and enjoying the food & wine. Not sure if you like the place, but the company makes up for the restaurant limitations.
Saturday you meet P for another french class and hour later run to Fred Astaire to dance. Still happy :-)
At 2pm you meet L at the Met musem. Start with lunch at the Petrie Court Cafe and spend the next couple of hours wandering around.
You drag L to Capezio and try on dancing shoes. Not pretty, really not pretty, but somewhat comfortable and flexible (the key).
At 6pm B joins for dinner. 3 girls, delicious food and too much wine. After dinner you stop for more drinks.

Who knew you will dance?

Sunday is a grand shopping day. 8 hours of non stop purchasing fueled by couple of glasses of wine at lunch.
The next day is one of the best you've had in a while. Start with morning french private class. P is patient and funny. Tries not to laugh when you butcher the pronunciation. Hour later you meet A for coffee and good, old chat. She's got got back from month long trip to India. Next time you are going with her!
Today is your first ballroom dance class. You've join Fred Astaire studio on the Upper East Side. The ballroom intimidates you, but it is too late to back out. You absolutely love every minute of it and sign up for private lessons. Now you need to find someone to practice with.
V makes reservation at Ayza. You are starving and can't wait to order. The restaurant is perfect for the evening. Intimate, with attentive service and good menu.
Why can't every day be like that?

3 day weekend
So many things so little time, literally. It is amazing how many things you'd like to do and there is simply not enough time. Why do we need to sleep? What a waste of time. Friday at the office is quite busy, you hope to leave early, yet stay till 7pm. Tonight the grand plan was to salsa dance. You meet B and insted of crazy dance you choose to have quiet dinner. Well, dinner is an overstatements, since you both try to detox, it is just tea and appetizer.

Thought of a day
Saturday, January 12, 2008
Slow & quiet
Guy in front of you must be in his late 40s. He's wearing spandex t-shirt and shorts so short that you almost can see his butt. His legs are either hairless or he shaved. You're trying not to judge, but it is quite hard not to.
The rest of a day is quiet. You have your nails done, shop, wander around and order from Candle Cafe.

Blisful
Friday 6pm. Turn your computer off, say good night to folks who are still immerse in work, and run out. The plan tonight is to visit....the museum of sex...they have an event and B was quick to RSVP for it. By the time you all meet and arrive, the museum closes. Oh, well.
Fortunately there is Aspen close by. Beautiful people, nice surroundings, great company.

The Met museum after work
You meet B after work at you usual spot by the World Trade Center. Take 4 express to the museum. B is part of an Apollo circle at the Metropolitan. Tonight there is an opening of the New Galleries for 19th and Early 20th Century European Paintings and Sculpture. You go on a quick tour and hour later pick up your first glass of wine joining the reception. B orders white, you go for red. Y and B are attending also. Four of you chat along and enjoy the evening.
You take a cab home and fall asleep immediately.
Why do we have to sleep? Such a waste of time, so many things to do.

You got to appreciate good friends
Day at the office feels long and you can't wait to leave. Today is just not a good work day. Right after 6pm you get your coat and on a way to meet B for couple of drinks. You chat, you laugh, you have a great time.
What would you do without friends?

Shakespeare & Sauvignon Blanc

One of those perfect days that make you love weekends.
It is warm, clear blue sky and almost 60F, or at least it feels like it. You're meeting your friends on the West Side for lunch. Make a good attempt to walk but change your mind and hail a cab. Comfort always wins in your book. Get to Cafe Luxembourg and get sitted right away. V is already there, J and S join minutes later. Couple of glasses of sauvignon blanc and delicious lunch later you move on and on a way to Lincoln Center.
V got tickets for Shakespeare's Cymbeline! Lovely play with great cast - Phylicia Rashad ("The Cosby Show"), John Pankow ("Mad About You"), Jonathan Cake ("Six Degrees"), Martha Plimpton ("Law & Order", "ER").
Talk to P and plan your vacations

Uneventful

You wake up early and spend literally half of a day watching movies, organizing, and running errands. Squeeze in short workout, not even worth mentioning. You are late for your yoga class and Equinox is crowded as hell. Grocery shop and take a short walk around the block, taking advantage of somewhat warm weather.
In the evening you enjoy dinner with C. and M.
